Fitting Room Snapshots – Ann Taylor (wear now, wear later)

Hello!

Quite excited about these fitting room try-ons!

Loft fitting room snapshots coming tomorrow (Friday).

Truth be told, I don’t think I was overly excited for Fall until I saw some of the new arrivals at Ann Taylor.

But my favorite part is that most of these pieces can be worn now and then can easily transition into Fall.

I love when pieces are not specific to one season but rather can be worn year-around. And pieces in these fitting room snap I can see myself wearing year-around. Just styled right, they can be rocked during all seasons (and I think pretty much all of them are super easy to style).

Who doesn’t love getting most our of their wardrobe?!

Lots of plaid, hounds-tooth, cheetah, leopard print this Fall.

Let’s move to the good stuff…

This combo 😍 with flats (add black opaque tight for Fall/Winter).  For Fall, it would look great with over the knee boots too.

I actually would love a midi pencil skirt in this color combo. With a pair of heels.   The skirt comes in Regular and Petite and not in Tall, unfortunately.

(Will talk about the top under the next picture)

Plaid A-line Button Skirt

Same top as above (just tucked in above).

The top is a subtle peplum. Unfortunately, there isn’t much stretch to it so I’d suggest sizing up. The lack of stretch did not stop me from getting it as I LOVE subtle peplum tops. I loved the way it looked paired with this pencil skirt, which I got in size Small (xs would have been way too body hugging).  I’ll be rocking this top with skinny jeans probably even more.  And I’m back to standing on my toes (I think I’m doing this because I’d wear this outfit with heels).

Top in Small  |   Skirt in Small

Quite a few pieces I liked were already sold out my and if the next size up was available, I tried it on. Like this skirt and blouse. Love both!  I ready mentioned this top in my yesterday’s blog post. Even nicer in person. Small wasn’t huge, I kinda liked the relaxed fit.

Skirt was in size 2 and because it’s A-line, I would need 0.  My only compliant about the skirt – I wish the belt was a tad thinner.

Cheetah Dot Blouse  |  Tie Waist Midi Wrap Skirt

There is not much I’m not loving this time around. Yikes!

Love these two pieces together. While the top is leopard print, it’s fairly subtle IMO.  Definitely quite versatile. I like the fit of xs…it’s fitted but not tight.

Skirt fit me fine in my usual size 2. It sits high on the waist, very flattering (but I was definitely sucking my tummy here, ha!).  It looks better with the belt, which is fairly thin (good thing).  The color is a pretty winter white (makes me think of almond milk. that’s what the color looks in person lol)

Skirt in size 2  |   Short Sleeve Leopard Print Sweater in size xs

Smallest size available in store was 4 in this which was a tad big. Maybe if it was a pencil skirt it would be ok. I’d probably stick to my usual size in this one.

Peplum top same as in the first two pictures.

Cheetah Print Flounce Skirt

The SA pointed about this color and it’s super nice on (picture doesn’t do it justice. It’s prettier in person). I tried on XS and it was a good fit.  A similar top is available in short sleeve version (which I noticed as I was leaving).

These Bow flats are so so cute! Ann Taylor’s new shoe arrival selection is amazing!
I found these flats to be true to size.  The houndstooth print comes in a block heel option.

Sleeveless top  (my jeans below are from LOFT)

See, this top looks amazing with skirts and jeans. LOVE it so much!

Tried on size 2 in these black skinny jeans. I’m usually size 0 in AT jeans, since most of the ones I purchased so far had a nice amount of stretch to them (but 0 was not avail.).  There was quite a tad extra room in waist area (specifically back) so I think I’d be able to squeeze in my usual size in these. I’d say these run tts, but as always, read reviews too if available.
Jeans  |  Flats

Easily dressed up or down top. The cuff adds polish to the blouse. Will pair nicely with any bottoms.

Tried on xs and it was a nice relaxed fit but not baggy.

Striped Cuffed Top

This jacket was also sold out in my size. Tried on size 2 Petite which fit nicely actually.  I’d still go with my usual sizes, Regular 0.  The color is very pretty in person.

Moto Jacket

Another piece that was sold out in my sizes. Tried on size 2 in it was definitely roomy. This one runs tts, so I’d need 0.  But it’s adorable. Shorter in person than it appears in this pic. Sad it doesn’t come in Tall. But love the plaid.

Plaid Fit and Flare Dress

Absolutely loved this dress! Even though the mustard-y color is not faltering on me, this shade actually looked good (it’s all about the right shade). Tried on size 2 and it was overall a good fit (it runs a tad small). There was just a bit extra room on top but the bottom part was fine. The subtle ruffles are the perfect touch.

Styled appropriately, this dress works for all season.

Ruffle Sheath Dress in size 2  – comes in black too

This deep green plaid dress is so dreamy.  Love the square neckline.  I wish it was an inch higher up. but it doesn’t show the ladies (since there isn’t much lol).  I love the subtle plaid in what’s probably  my favorite color for Fall.  Tried on size 0 here and it fit good.

Also available in black.
Dress in size 0

Love the dark wash on these jeans.  I tried on size 0 which fit great.  Really liked the blouse.  Just a great classic closet staple.  XS was a great fit  (when I say great I usually mean tts 😉

See flats into two pics below

Jeans  |  Blouse in xs

same jeans as above

Kinda liked the neckline on this light sweater. A tad low but not terrible.  XS was a good fit. But as you might notice, it had a snag in it already.  It’s one of those. But cute.  Not seeing it online yet.

These flats below are not a vibrate red as they show online (at least on my computer). They almost a lighter burgundy color.  Quite pretty though. My true size fit well.

Flats

How pretty are these!?!   They also come in solid colors (loving the tan below).
My size was already sold out in these but I tried 1/2 up which was too big.
Leopard Print

Suede Tassel Flats

I also ordered this delicate pearlized lariat necklace.

Which pieces are your favorite?

Great reviews, Lilly! I need another moto jacket like I need a hole in my head but the one you tried on here is SO cute. How heavy is the material on it? More lightweight or medium to heavy weight? Gina || On the Daily Express

Thanks Gina! haha, I think all moto jackets are different…just liked striped tees 😉 If I remember correctly…it's more of medium weight. It feels a tad thick but not in a bad way …if that makes sense. It's quite nice.
