If you caught a peek of this outfit on my Instagram, then you know that I was looking to get a blazer like this one. I tried one that’s quite similar to mine (I’ll share a picture of what it looks like on at the end of this post). I came home just to find one hanging in my closet. I completely forgot about….but it is only a few months old, so maybe that’s why.
There are so many plaid blazers out there right now, so if you’re on the hunt for one, I think you won’t have any trouble finding one. H&M has amazing options and most of them are $35 (that’s where I got mine).

Now that I look at it, I really like the blazer I tried on. The colors are similar to mine, even a bit better actually. The main difference is that the one below is double-breasted. I tried size US4 and it fit me well (that’s my usual size at H&M). And this blazer is only $35!!!! Might be different enough to get this one too

You wear clothes very well but I would like to see more sustainable clothing featured on your blog. Forty dollars for a blazer that will end the landfill next year is not what we need!
Thank you! The word “sustainable” has gotten a lot of attention this year which is great! We all can do our part to make a difference. Baby steps. But the word ‘sustainable’ also means different things to different people.
Sustainable fashion is not just about production of an item but also about consumption and use. Buying a $200 blazer from a sustainable brand (or one that claims to be one) does not mean I’ll wear it for years, it could “end up in landfill” next year (hoping no-one is ignorant to just throw away clothes), just as a blazer that cost $40 does not mean it will be thrown out next year. One of the goals in sustainable fashion is to buy less and use things longer thus reducing the need for production of new clothing in the first place.
A lot of blazer I own cost under $50 and I’ve gotten wear out of most of them for 8+ years and they have much more life left in them (and then they’re passed on to a friend). I’m definitely not into fast fashion, I prefer classic and timeless pieces that I can wear for years. There is a lot of ways we can support a more conscious consumption patterns.
Perfectly stated! I’ve enjoyed following your blog for 7-8 years, and I’ve never seen you be wasteful, often wearing things you’ve had for years in different ways. In fact, several of the items I’ve purchased since seeing it on your blog I still wear!
