Fitting Room Snapshots (finally!!) – Banana Republic, J.Crew Factory, Ann Taylor, LOFT

 

You guys…I actually went into a few stores. Who am I?  I haven’t shopped in person in forever it seems yet alone tried anything on/taken pictures.  For some reason I was in the mood to hit a few stores so I took advantage of it. It was actually four stores on two different days.  Anywho….there are some stunning pieces. I got a few to refresh my spring wardrobe. Can’t wait to style them all.

J.CREW FACTORY  

 

I’m slightly addicted to lady jackets/sweater jacket!  I love that I can throw one on with jeans and have an outfit that looks like I put some effort into it.  And of course they look amazing with skirts/dresses as well.  This one comes in three colors. I actually don’t have this color so I ended up ordering it.  Absolutely in love with it!  I got xs as I wanted it to be fitted.  I would say it runs tts but if you’re in between sizes, size up. It looks so cute with these wide leg jeans which are also on sale right now (the updated version might not have a raw hem. Tts).

 

 

It was really hard not buying this lady jacket sweater too (which comes in a pretty coral-y/white color too). I LOVE the white trim. Such a classy piece.  If I do end up ordering it, it will be only because it is a beautiful timeless piece (am I already trying to justify to myself this potential purchase?! lol).   Tried on xs and it tts.  But if in between sizes, size up.LADY JACKET CARDIGAN

 

The more I look at it, the more I want it. Such a pretty little number.  How chic would it look thrown over shoulder during warmer months with white clean-line shorts!?! I’m visualizing this classy summer outfit! LADY JACKET in xs  | WIDE LEG JEANS tts 

 

 

I saw this blazer online the other day and loved the vibrant green color (it’s a way more beautiful green in person). Green never ever photographs well for me when I try stuff on.  I’m not seeing it now online – maybe sold out at the moment?  Smallest size available was 4 which is what I have on in the picture. While it fits fine, I think size 2 would be an overall better fit for me.

 

 

These ankle pants were such a great deal – 70% off. I’m glad I got to try them on as they run really small.  Size 4 was really tight which also did not look ok for this style of pants.  I grabbed size 6 which feels very comfortable and just looks way better on in general.  They come in several colors. LOFT

I have not shopped at LOFT in sooo long.  Thought I’d make a quick stop. They had a lot of great pieces but I tried on only a few that I was drawn the most to.  Not seeing them all online yet, guessing they’re new in store arrivals first. 

I thought this blazer looked a lot nicer in person.  It was kinda has that cool chic look to it.  I tried size 0 and it fit great! BLAZER in size 0 – tts for me 

 

 

I was immediately drawn to this top! So cute and breezy. They only had a few left in store and unfortunately not one is xs go I grabbed small.  The fit is boxy but I like boxy. Love this one but not seeing it online yet. UPDATE: It’s online now! 

WHITE TOP

 

 

I had to at least try this cute stripe sweater on haha (I think it’s a way better deal online). I know I have a problem when it comes to stripes. This sweater had nice weight to it, loved the button details on sleeves. Tried on xs. It’s a relaxed fit – I like it! STRIPE V NECK SWEATER in xs 

 

 

I really loved this seersucker blazer!  It was more than I wanted to spend on a Loft blazer, thought I’d wait for a good sale.  Runs tts – I’m wearing size 0 here. BLAZER in size 0

 

 

On the hunt for a lighter pair of smart pants. These were much better than two pairs I tried at Ann Taylor. Thicker fabric.  Still didn’t love them on me. Off white/ivory pants can be so tricky as they can show every imperfection.  Tried size 2 and they fit fine. PANTS tts – also available in black 

 

The wrinkles never help either! I’ll keep an eye out for this top. Hopefully it will be online soon.

ANN TAYLOR 30% off tops and sweater and  Suiting

 

If you follow me, you know I love button downs.  I was immediately drawn to this lilac one.  I sized up to Small for a roomier fit.  Love it!STRIPE BUTTON DOWN in small | JEANS tts | FLATS 

 

 

I will say that looking at this floral midi skirt online I would have not paid attention to it. It’s so much nicer in person. It was left only in a few sizes in store and so happy that size 2 fit me (I am usually between size 2 or 4 and have both from Ann Taylor. They’re not always consistent).   FLORAL MIDI SKIRT 

 

 

Another lady jacket – shocker!  I find this one a bit similar to the J.Crew Factory one above and I actually like the fit of other one a tad better on me.  I like the details on this one.  There are quite a few gorgeous sweater jackets.

The one think I really liked about these trouser is that they’re lined!  I don’t love side zippers BUT I will say that I might be changing my mind (updates from really disliking them lol). I think I needed to size up (maybe) as they were too tight on hips/butt area for me (just didn’t like how it felt. A curvy fit would have probably been better or just a bigger size. In this case size 4). They do have reviews so check those out too.  But again, I do love that they’re lined.  UPDATE:  I ended up ordering size 4 and it looks SO MUCH BETTER!  Amazing what the right size can do lol.

The Eva Ankle Pants – they come in quite a few colors. I love ankle pants and these are quite nice. I found size 2 to be too tight, wearing size 4 below. Available in more colors. ANKLE PANTS | SWEATER JACKET 

 

 

I’m doing this classic dress zero justice ! Zero!  It looks great on the model – check it out.   It’s a classy, timeless boatneck dress. TTSBOATNECK MIDI DRESS 

 

 

Grabbed this sweater skirt on sale section to try on.  It’s Small Petite.  Didn’t love it on me. But I did like this short sleeve sweater which comes in several colors. The green is way more vibrant and beautiful in person. I didn’t find it to be cropped but it is on the shorted side which works perfectly for high-waist bottoms. LOVED this Lightweight Cashmere Sweater (in xs – oversized fit).  Feel great on.  Love the oversized fit but you can easily size down. I loved the style of this linen dress!  The top part was so different and interesting.  I think I tried size 2 and the top part was roomy which is part of the style but the bottom part was SO tight! If I sat down I’m sure if would rip. Sizing up would make the top part way too big for me. This gorgeous dress will work for someones body type but it didn’t work for me sadly. LINEN DRESS – come in black as well. White might be sold out.
