Polished Outfits to Try this Winter

Hey there!

I’m slightly shocked how fast January has been going by.  I know for many it seems like the longest month ever, which I feel like has been the case in the years past, but this year it seems as I blinked and it’s already almost the end of January.  But it also means we are somewhat closer to spring.

I thought I would round up some outfits I have loved but haven’t shared on here yet. A lot of these items are in constant rotation. I would group them in my “capsule wardrobe”.

I want to say that I’ll try to post regularly on my here (which I have said for the last two years and failed)  but I will most definitely work on that.  I love blogs and I miss them!

End of ’24 I was debating about keeping my site or letting it go as the hosting service came up for renewal and it isn’t cheap.  While I have not been posting regularly in the last couple of years, letting my blog go after all these years just didn’t feel right.  I couldn’t do it. I tried to remember all post I’ve shared in the past and how much I have enjoyed it.  Days we regularly read blogs and interacted with each other. I know times have changed along with our attention spans but I miss it as much as I miss flipping through a September issue of a fashion magazine haha (I really do miss flipping through fashion magazines).

In the last few years I have shared how much I love Quince and all the pieces I have purchased from them.  They became more popular more recently since they started working with a lot of influencers. I have never worked with them, everything you see me wear from them I have purchased with my own dollar bills.

This gray fishermen cashmere sweater in a favorite (I think I have worn the black one three times last week).  It is identical to this Jenni Kayne one which is $400!!!!  My gray one is in size mall and black in Medium as I wanted it slightly oversized. long black coat, black booties, levi's wedgie jeans, quince cashmere sweater SHOP THIS OUTFIT: LEVI’S JEANS | FISHERMAN CASHMERE SWEATER in small | BLACK LEATHER BOOTIES | OLD COAT – SIMILAR STYLE, HERE TOO AND HERE (great price for a wool coat) |

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of chocolate brown low heel leather booties. It took about two years to find the pair I loved, but I didn’t settle. I patiently searched and searched. I came across these beauties but then it took months trying to snag a pair in my size. They always sold out pretty fast.  I’m so happy with them (I do wish they were cheaper but these will probably last me as long I can wear how heels). Love the a bit rounded to area which my toes are grateful for.  The lower heel makes them comfortable for all day wear. I’ve been slightly drooling over this Toteme coat for a few years but it came with a high price tag.  While there are a lot of affordable dupes on Amazon I didn’t want polyester.  I came across this Merino Wool option and fell in love. It was another piece that sold out fast so I waited for my size to get restocked in this color (it comes in several).  While it it not cheap you do get what you pay for – quality fabrics and it’s well made.  It’s lightweight but warm (not for a brutal winter day). I also love how it instantly elevates any outfit!  Per reviews, I got xs and it fits great.

With each year I’m realizing more and more that I rather have a few quality pieces, than a closet full of poorly made fast fashion pieces and trying to keep up with constant fast changing trends (not that I have ever tried to keep up with trends. I’m a firm believer in wearing what one loves, wether it is trendy or not). SHOP THIS OUTFIT: MERONI WOOL JACKET | LEVI’S JEANS | BOOTIES | BAG c/o

I’ve been trying to find a long wool coat, like ankle long, in a different color for years but never can’t find one that is long enough without breaking the bank. While there have been some nice ones, they’re always sold out.  I’m 5’6 so not super tall where it should be this hard to find a long coat…but apparently it is.  This black one is the longest one I could find a couple of years ago and was nice quality, good length and style.

A lot of my freezing winter days outfits have been pretty similar to this one below.  I’ve mostly been wearing my Barbour winter coat which unfortunately is no longer available but it is very similar to this one (mine just can be cinched at the waist and pockets are different).  It has been my most worn coat this winter and then once in a while my old puffer coats that I’ve had for years (both puffers this one below were gifted).

This Everlane puffer coat is about six years old and I’ve worn this thing to death.  You already know how much I love the Nisolo boots below. I’ve worn these for the past few years and probably my most worn in addition to the other Chelsea style below.

I also love fashion blogs as opposed of just scrolling through instagram. I love your site and it’s great to hear you are keeping it! Great inspiration
