Outfits I Wore in January

Happy Monday!  

I hope you had nice and enjoyable weekend! 

A lot of the outfits below are what I wore around the house but they were outdoor ready too with a quick swap of shoes and addition of a coat.

These wide leg jeans were my favorite $30 discovery  (with this pair being  $35). Usually H&M jeans don’t fit my body well but the wide leg styles were a winner!  They’re so comfortable that I found myself reaching for them constantly, as you’ll see below.  They remind me a tad of the Madewell wide leg vintage jeans, which I have in a few colors, but these are longer. I’m 5’6. I  absolutely love the look and vibe of these.  Also, with that said, I’d recommend trying H&M jeans as a lot of them are cotton and very affordable (I’m pretty sure they have free returns).  

H&M sizing can be tricky if you’re not familiar with it.  I’m size 26 in jeans and while I can fit in H&M size 6 I prefer size 8 for  more room in the waist. Sizing also depends on your body type as with any other jeans. But I think it’s worth giving these a try if you’ve been on the hunt for this style. Love an affordable yet well made find. I stumbled upon this cardigan and fell in love with it. If I saw it on someone I would have not guessed it was from Talbots.  Thankfully it was on sale + additional % off (discount applied in bag).  Love the color and fit. I’m wearing xs and it fits tts. It’s no secret I love Sezane. Not only the French chic styles of their clothing but also that most are made with natural materials.  I got this cardigan in Perfect Green back in September and it still sold out (hopefully they’ll restock soon). The cardigan comes in quite a few beautiful colors.  Per their recommendation on sizing, I sized down.

I’ve been trying to add more color to my wardrobe lately. While I’ve always loved color (who remembers the 2012-2013 color blocking era? lol.  And I wore a LOT of color…all at once), with age I started feeling more drawn to neutrals, which was Lilly all over again in the late teen and early 20’s. Not only do I feel more me in neutrals but they’re also easier to mix and match.  BUT lately I’ve been loving colorful pieces, especially all the fantastic color ways available nowadays.  Sneaker are one easy way to add some color to an outfit and all the currently available options are phenomenal! 

One retailer that, in my opinion, has some of the best colorful wardrobe options is Boden. I was browsing their website the other day and fell in love with so many pieces.  This dress caught my eye (not cheap) and I can’t stop thinking about it.  It is SO beautiful! Below are all the pieces I saved, that if I had unlimited shopping budget, I would buy lol  (there are some neutrals too).  

Ya’ll loved this sweater when I shared it on Reels recently.  I got it in cream beige color back in August and reach for it constantly. It washes well and I’ve even throw it in the dryer (avoid high heat).  I got xs and it is an oversized fit.

Gap it still killing it and I’m here for all the chic wardrobe basics. A lot of their pieces are such amazing designer dupes too.  Another major bonus is that so many of their tees, sweater and cardigans are 100% cotton!!!  This cardigan sold out like hot cakes, just like it did last year,  and it is one of those pieces if you see it – don’t sleep on it (if you’re in the market for one).   I got the cream beige last year in Small, and the color below in xs but now wish I had purchased size small. I just prefer a slightly relaxed fit.

H&M jeans again – I wear these constantly around the house. I think they look the best with low heel booties (low heel for me) or sneakers and flats.  I don’t love them with Chelsea boots (only wear it that way to walk the dogs lol). JEANS | NAVY CASHMERE SWEATER (super 0ld) – IDENTICAL FOR $50 (I take my bigger size in their cashmere sweaters)
